Kulgam, January 21: Kulgam police under the close supervision of SSP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS has launched a special drive against illegal mining to foil degradation of the river vaishow and other nallahs of the district which makes them vulnerable to flood, even affecting eco balance and endangering the habitation located nearby.
In this regard, A police party of Police Post Mirbazar led by IC PP Mirbazar during Naka checking at Mirbazar chowk seized a vehicle (dumper) bearing Registration no JK13G-2650. Involved in transportation of minerals illegally extracted and arrested the driver namely; Bilal Ahmad Bhat S/O Ghulam Rasool Bhat R/O Litter, Pulwama.
Accordingly a case with FIR No. 20/2024 under section 431 IPC, 3 PPD act has been registered at police station Qazigund in this regard and investigation has been initiated.
Kulgam Police requests the people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activity as it is the violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
