Srinagar, Oct 21: Continuing its sustained crackdown on absconders and proclaimed offenders, J&K police on Tuesday said to have arrested a wanted accused who had been evading arrest for the past seven years in Kulgam.
The arrested individual has been identified as Mohammad Fareed Bajard son of Mohammad Qasim resident of Gundah Khawas, Rajouri, wanted in Case FIR No. 74/2018 under sections 323 and 354 RPC of Police Station Yaripora, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
The accused had been on the run since 2018 to evade arrest. Acting on specific intelligence, a Police team successfully traced and apprehended him after persistent efforts. Following completion of legal formalities, he was produced before the Court, police said.
Meanwhile, J&K Police reiterated its firm commitment to bringing absconders and proclaimed offenders to justice, ensuring that no one evading law remains beyond its reach—(KNO)
