
Kulgam, Feb 20: Shri Rakesh Asthana, IPS (Retd.) the Special Monitor of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), today conducted a visit to Kashmiri Pandit (KP) Colony Vessu area of Qazigund.
During the visit, he engaged with the colony’s inhabitants, attentively listened to their issues and demands.
DIG South Kashmir, Altaf Ahmad Khan, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid, SSP Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal and other officers also attended the event.
The inhabitants of the Colony had a detailed discussion with Shri Asthana about the various issues and matters.
In the meeting the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam briefed the Specail Monitor NHRC about the current status of migrant colonies comming up at Mirhama,Chawgam and Vessu.
