20 snow clearance machines have been augmented; 60% of snow has been cleared from the roads; Monitoring the situation on ground and ensuring clearance of snow from all roads in the district at an earliest, says AEE MED
Kulgam, Feb 20: Following heavy snowfall in the district, the Snow clearance operations are going-on in full swing and all men and machinery have been pressed into service to clear the roads.
Speaking to Kashmir Upfront, AEE Mechanical Engineering Department, Kulgam, Khurshid Abdullah said that number of snow clearance machines have been augmented and the snow clearance operations are being carried out on all major roads connecting Kulgam with other districts besides other link and inner roads.
He also said that they 20 snow clearance machines for 554 kilometres of road in the district with 377 Kilometers priority 1st and 177 priority 2nd roads.
“So far we have cleared 60% of snow on the roads in the district out of which 300 kilomters of priority first and 30 kilometers of priority 2nd roads out of 554 Kilometers”, he said. adding that “Remaining 40 percent snow to be cleared at an earliest.
“I am myself monitoring the situation on ground and ensuring clearance of snow from all roads in the district ,” Abdullah said.
