Electricity will be restored within an hour in entire Qazigund belt, says AEE PDD
Qazigund, Feb 20 : Several villages in Qazigund belt of South Kashmiri’s Kulgam district are reeling under complete darkness since snowfall.
Residents alleged that they get power supply for merely 5 minutes and said since snowfall they are reeling under complete darkness as power supply goes off and remained unrestored since then.
“Exams of various classes are going but students of our areas have no alternate to study in candle light. Even our mobile phones are switched off”, locals said.
The villagers added that many people are now utilizing solar energy to charge their mobile phones. However, they said,” Every household can’t procure solar system as most of them are poor.”
On Contacting, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) PDD Qazigund, Mohd Yousuf Mir told VOI that Efforts are on to restore the electricity as soon as possible
“Hopefully within an hour electricity will be restored in entire Qazigund belt”, he said.
