
Qazigund (Kulgam) June 25: Ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra, Kulgam police on Wednesday conducted a comprehensive mock drill along Jammu-Srinagar NH in Qazigund.
The 52-day pilgrimage to start on July 3, simultaneously from both the routes – the Pahalgam track in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district, and it will culminate on August 9 on Raksha Bandhan.
“We have carried out a comprehensive mock drill exercise along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Qazigund here”, a police officier said.
“The primary objective of this exercise was to provide practical training to the entire team, ensuring they are well-prepared to handle real-time operations in the event of any unforeseen incidents”, he said.
“Every inch of the route is being monitored with human intelligence and technical surveillance, adding All potential threats are being neutralized well in advance. Our objective is zero tolerance for any attempt to disrupt the yatra.” he added.
