Kulgam, June 26: The administration in South Kashmiri’s Kulgam district has asked the residents to remove illegal encroachments and solid waste from roadsides immediately, failing which strict action would be taken against the defaulters.
As per the order issued by Kulgam administration it states that “It has been observed that various forms of public nuisance—such as unauthorized construction material on road side, dumping of waste, open defecation, obstruction of pathways, illegal encroachments, accumulation of cow dung and use of loudspeakers without permission—are being reported from different areas of the District. These activities not only violate public order but also adversely affect health, hygiene, and overall civic discipline.
In light of the above, the following instructions are hereby issued for strict implementation”.
1 Immediate Removal:
All public nuisances including garbage heaps, cow dung deposits, construction material, and obstructions in public ways must be cleared immediately by the concerned individuals or departments.
2 Monitoring by Field Staff:
3 No Unauthorized Encroachment:
No person shall occupy or encroach upon public land, lanes, roads, or drains. Existing encroachments must be removed forthwith.
Strict action, including penalties under relevant laws, shall be initiated against those who are found responsible for causing or allowing any form of nuisance.
5 Community Responsibility:
“All residents are requested to cooperate with the authorities in keeping their surroundings clean, hygienic, and free from any activity that causes inconvenience to the public”, the order further stated.
“In view of above, Tehsildars/Naib Tehsildars (Executive Magistrates), BDOs and Officers/Officials of R&B, PMGSY and NH444 are hereby directed to ensure strict implementation of the instructions, in letter and spirit”, it added.
