Qazigund, June 20: Ahead of PM Modi’s visit to Kashmir, the security arrangements have been tightened along Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Qazigund and adjoining areas to thwart any untoward incident, officials on Thursday said.
An official told that on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal (IPS) from last few days, the process of searches have been going at various places including Navyug tunnel.
“Multiple checkpoints have been placed along the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Qazigund to monitor to keep track of the commuters and frisking has been intensified at Major spots. Security personnel are seen at many places stopping and checking the vehicles”, he said.
