Pampore, Jun 20: Safoora Shafi, a student of Muslim Educational Institute (MEI) Pampore was all shattered during her 10th class exams after her lone brother died of some critical complications.
She, however, brought smiles to the faces of her parents by securing 492 (out of 500) marks in the 10th class board examinations, the results of which were declared on Monday.
Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Safoora, who is now the only child of her parents, said she was studying well from day one; however, as exams were about to start, her brother fell ill.
She narrates: “My brother was on a ventilator. After appearing in two papers, his condition became critical. A day before my Mathematics paper, the subject in which I am weak, my brother passed away, and I wasn’t in a condition to attend the test. But my relatives persuaded me to appear in the exam.”
I was expecting more than what I have secured, but thanks to Almighty Allah for whatever I have achieved despite facing the tragedy, she added.
Safoora said she would have witnessed her success with her brother. “But this is what Almighty destined. I lost my lone brother so early,” she said.
Thanking her parents, teachers and relatives for their support throughout, the young girl said she wants to get success in whatever field she chooses so as to see her parents happy.
“What I have learned is that one must be courageous under all circumstances and be consistent and hardworking as these things are important to achieve any goal,” Safoora said—(KNO)
