(Devsar), Kulgam, Sep 11: 77 Senior Citizens, PwDs casted their votes through Home Voting in 40-Devsar AC on Wednesday, an official said.
He said that as part of the ECI’s initiative “Vote from Home” a total 77 out of 81 Senior Citizens, PwDs casted their votes at their respective homes today through Home Voting in 40-Devsar AC.
“It provides an opportunity for several senior citizens and PwDs to exercise their right to vote through postal ballots in General elections to legislative assembly 2024 minimizing their difficulties in travelling to the Polling Stations”, he said.
“All Security, transport, videography and other logistics arrangements were already put in place by Returning Officer and Nodal Officer to see its successful culmination” he added.
Meanwhile, Senior Citizens, PwDs expressed gratitude to the Election Commission of India for providing the home voting facility.
