Baramulla, Aug 12: Ahead of Independence Day, security has been put on high alert across the north Kashmir districts, with a tightened grid along the Line of Control (LoC) to avert any potential threat.
The deployments made along the LoC, particularly in Baramulla and Kupwara districts, Equipped with advanced surveillance drones, imported rifles, and sniper guns, the forces are on high alert to foil any infiltration attempts by terrorists.
Officials said that personnel have also undergone martial arts training to enable close combat without firearms—similar to the Galwan Valley hand-to-hand tactics used in Ladakh.
The security apparatus is leveraging modern gadgetry, including night vision devices and high-resolution cameras, to monitor any suspicious movement along the LoC. These measures aim to ensure smooth and peaceful Independence Day celebrations.
In Baramulla, security along the LoC has been further tightened, with intensified night patrols and multi-layered security measures. Armed forces remain on strict vigil along the borders to thwart any potential threat.
