Anantnag, Nov 10: Expressing satisfaction over the responsive approach of the present National Conference (NC) Government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, senior NC leader and Vice District President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, said that the party remains committed to fulfilling the promises made to the public.

Shah appreciated that the government has been taking concrete steps to redress genuine public grievances. He emphasized that the differentiation in governance must be judged by performance rather than mere slogans, unlike the previous regimes that, according to him, used Anantnag as a political tool for personal gains.

“Those governments misled the innocent public with slogans of self-rule, while in reality, their version of self-rule was aimed at empowering their own families through elite settlements and jobs,” Shah remarked.

Shah made these comments during his visit to Sarnal Bala, where he, along with a team of municipal officials, conducted a comprehensive sanitation drive. The initiative followed a recent visit in which locals had raised concerns over the accumulation of rubble and stagnant water and garbage near the graveyard and adjoining areas. Shah had assured them of timely redressal.

The locals lauded Shah’s prompt action, describing it as a reflection of the seriousness and commitment of the present NC Government toward public welfare.

Shah further said that despite years of political dominance in the area, the PDP had failed to address local issues and had instead worsened public suffering, using the residents of Sarnal as “cannon fodder for personal and political gains

Shah exuded confidence of securing a decisive victory in both Nagrota and Budgam, stating that the unprecedented public response demonstrates the people’s faith in the party’s commitment to development and good governance.
