Kulgam, Oct 25: Security was beefed up in several areas of Kulgam district on Thursday following recent terror attacks in kashmir valley from last one week.
The recent setbacks to the security forces have led to a major shakeup in the deployment of uniformed armed forces on the ground with the aim of strengthening the three-tiered security arrangement to prevent any further incident.
An official told that on the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kulgam Sahil Sarangal (IPS), security has been beefed up across the district and checkpoints have been erected in many places in Kulgam district including Qazigund, Mirbazar, Kulgam town, Qaimoh, Kund, DH Pora, Nihama, Yaripora, Frisal and frisking has been intensified. Security personnel are seen at many places stopping and checking the vehicles.
“Close vigil is being kept on the overall situation in the district, senior Police officers are personally monitoring the security situation in the district to prevent any untoward incident in the district”, he said.
