Srinagar, Sep 20: Reliance Jio is facing criticism in south kashmir for reportedly coercing retailers to sell the ₹349 recharge plan instead of the ₹299 plan, despite the latter still being officially available.
According to retailers stating Jio’s regional distributors are threatening account termination if they don’t comply, leaving them caught between company directives and customer demands.
“New customers are being offered the ₹349 plan as the base option, which provides 56GB of data and unlimited 5G access, while existing users on lower plans are being migrated to higher-priced options”, they said.
“We are frustrated, feeling Jio is avoiding public backlash by making them sell the more expensive plan, while maintaining the illusion that the cheaper plan is still available”, said Jio retailers.
The situation has caused uncertainty and frustration among customers and retailers alike, raising concerns about Jio’s business practices.
