Kulgam May 20, 2023: Kulgam police under the close supervision of SP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS is making every effort to hunt down the drug peddlers in the district and to put them behind the bars.
In this regard, police party headed by SHO police station Yaripora established a checkpoint (Naka) at Kanjikulla Crossing and during checking one vehicle (load carried auto) bearing registration No. JK03-5815 driven by the person namely; Sameer Ahmad Shaikh S/o Farooq Ahmad Sheikh R/o Bangdar, Anantnag was intercepted and after checking, the officers present were able to recover 1.3 KG of Ganja like contraband substance. The said person (driver) was arrested and shifted to police station Yaripora where he remains in police custody and the vehicle used in commission of crime was seized.
Regarding this incident, a Case FIR No. 51/2023 U/S 8/20 of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Yaripora and investigation has been set into motion.
