Kulgam, Oct 27: Inhabitants of Churat village area of Devsar in Kulgam district up in arms against the power development department as the area reels under darkness for the last three days due to the technical snag in an electric transformer
Locals told that community electric transformer developed some fault three days back and since then it is yet to be repaired.
“The 250 KV transformer is meant to provide electricity to about hundreds households and it frequently develops technical snags. They urged the administration to get the transformer repaired as soon as possible.
Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), PDD Sub Division Qazigund, Mohd Yousuf Mir when contacted told that transformer developed technical snag during nocturnal hours and subsequently a technician has been deputed to ascertain the cause/Extent of damage, adding two phases of transformer were working and some consumers agreed to get power supply on said phase supply did not allow our staff to carry the process ahead.
