Kulgam, Feb 26: Two days after inaugurated by Minister Sakina Itoo, the Newly type primary health centre (NTPHC) in Chowgam area of south Kashmiri’s Kulgam district lacks basic facilities including medical dressing material which forced patients to go other hospitals in the district.
“A patient with some injury was brought to the PHC. However, his attendants claimed that there were no dressing gauge available which compelled them to go Qazigund hospital”, an attendant Bilal Ahmad said.
The patients alleged that the hospital staff misbehaved with them and showed no sympathy to patients, “The staff behave rudely and I have hardly seen them behaving cordially with patients,” he said
“The lack of basic healthcare facilities at the PHC is compelling patients to visit Qazigund and other hospitals, which is unaffordable for poor patients.
Meanwhile, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Qazigund Dr. Nighat when contacted said she would look into the matter.
The residents said that they have requested the concerned authorities to personally look into the matter and redress their grievances so that people may heave a sigh of relief.
