Due to the drought and lack of snowfall this year, the water flow in the springs has reduced; we are working on it to solve this issue at earliest, says AEE

Kulgam, January, 12: Residents of Bungam Nageenpora Kund village in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district have been facing shortage of portable water for the past few days.
Locals today accused the PHE department of neglecting their plight as the residents demanded immediate redressal of their genuine grievances.
The residents said that there is severe water shortage in their village for the past few days while the authorities are not paying any attention to their problems. A local resident told that more than 100 households are without drinking water facility due to which the local residents are facing severe hardship.
“We are being deprived of water facility and despite repeated requests neither the concerned department nor the administration is bothering to address our problems,” said another resident.
Meanwhile, the residents appealed to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam and other concerned officials to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Jal Shakti Department, Qazigund, Muhammad Rafiq, said that due to drought and lack of snowfall this year, the water flow in the springs has reduced, due to which water in the village has decreased.
